FreeSamplesDirect.com respects the rights of our visitors and as such does not collect, store or use any personal information about our visitors beyond generic web site statistical tracking, reporting and email newsletter subscription services.

As we never ask for any of our visitors personal information directly we will never use it nor pass it onto any other organisation.

If a visitor subscribes to our blog email update service those details are stored and accessed by us through Feedburner (our email mailing list service provider). We only use these details to send blog updates to our subscribed email service visitors and do not use these details for purposes beyond FreeSamplesDirect use.

Please note that no free samples are provided by us. We simply are a service to directly connect our visitors with free sample offers of other sites, merchants, manufacturers, retailers, etc who are offering the free samples.These sites/providers do obtain visitor personal information in accordance with their own individual terms & conditions and privacy policies to enable them to provide visitors with their free samples. Other reasons they may collect visitor information include, but are not limited to, learning about their potential customers, market research purposes, cross selling other products, calling/emailing/writing to you to connect with other products, etc. It is our visitors accountability to ensure they are aware of the policies and terms of each of the respective offers from the web sites we link our visitors too before they proceed with any sample offer, request, subscription, survey responses, etc.

To help keep this site running, at times, we promote samples which provide us with a small commission that allows us to continue to effectively run this service. Top Tips for Obtaining Free Samples

In December last year I wrote a post on the Top 6 Tips and Tricks for Safely Obtaining Free Stuff Online.

It is more important than ever to:
1 ) Keep Your Personal Information Private
2 ) Read Terms and Conditions on Freebie Sites
3 ) Make Sure you are ordering from a legitimate web site
4 ) Buy the full product if you like the sample – if nobody buys the free samples wouldn’t be provided by sites
5 ) Automatically fill in forms to save time
6 ) Use common sense with offers too good to be true

A few things I’d like to add to this original post which I find useful when requesting freebies online.

7 ) Don’t always expect freebies to show up – sometimes companies are overrun with freebie requests and cannot keep up, run out of stock quickly or in some cases I’ve heard of visitors receiving the sample box but the sample having been taken from inside! I guess everyone likes a free sample

8 ) Make sure they are available in your area – whilst some samples clearly state they are available in the United States, Australia, etc some don’t make mention of where they will send them too and also sometimes they are only available in a few states. If you read the About Us / Contact Us section of the particular site it should at least tell you where they are located and you can always contact them to ask if the sample is available in your area if unknown.

9) Following on from in my original post on using free email providers rather than your work and private email addresses to request samples is a really good idea to avoid filling your professional email with emails. Beyond Hotmail and Gmail, Ryan from HeyItsFree also has some great suggestions for free email address providers to use in your sign up information. This allows you to seperate your freebie requests from your professional life.
